Tigerbob Bestiary

This is a fine art collection of illustrations, mostly colored pencil and ink on paper, showcasing my universe of characters, monsters, and otherworldly creatures. The collection debut in 2021 as a digital collectible and integrated into the Tigerbob project in 2023. The collection is an expansion on the subject matter collected in Grimoire.

Historically, a bestiary is a medieval book of illustrations and descriptions of real and imaginary animals. The works often included mythology, allegory, and fables from a biblical or religious perspective. My depictions here are similar without the addition of a text description, though they describe my inner world of creatures inspired by myth rather than a formal belief system. Each character fills the entire page, accompanied with some aspect of background or environment or a field of color. Learn more about my visual language and inspirations here.

The project was started as an exploration of my female characters, called the Garden Maidens. These humanoid characters take the form of familiar mythical creatures like sprites and mermaids and were designed as nature spirits. The characters were made into pixel designs on Tigerbob Playing Cards as the court, and they were further developed in Tigerbob Mystery Garden.
